Ocean Prime Atlanta Bar Chef is One of Nation’s Most Imaginative Bartenders

Monday, August 27th, 2012

Clay Livingston of Ocean Prime Atlanta was recently named a finalist in a regional “Most Imaginative Bartender 2012” competition presented by Bombay Sapphire, GQ and the United States Bartenders’ Guild. Livingston will travel to Las Vegas for the final round of the nationwide contest in September, where he will compete against other regions’ winning mixologists for the ultimate title of “America’s Most Imaginative Bartender 2012.”

Livingston’s libation, Tahitian Sapphire, was a product of thorough research and many trials during the course of four years. Fusing a guest’s request and his personal style, Livingston’s cocktail features Bombay Sapphire, orgeat syrup, lime juice, orange liqueur and Peychaud’s bitters. Garnished with herbs, orange peel and grated cassia, the creation has notes of fresh mint and spice.

“I have worked to perfect this cocktail for many years,” said Livingston. “I look forward to the finals in Las Vegas and am grateful for the opportunity to showcase my work and represent Ocean Prime.”

The final competition will take place on Sunday, September 9, and Monday, September 10, at the Wynn Las Vegas.
