Lazy Betty Announces Peter Hill as General Manager
Lazy Betty, the forthcoming restaurant from Executive Chef Ron Hsu and Chef de Cuisine/Partner Aaron Phillips, announced that Peter Hill will serve as General Manager. Set to open in early 2019 at 1530 DeKalb Avenue NE, the restaurant is also managed by restaurant partners (and Chef Ron’s siblings) Howard and Anita Hsu.
An Atlanta native, Peter studied at the University of Alabama. Upon returning to his hometown, he joined the Four Seasons Hotel and was integral in refreshing their cocktail program by helping to establish a homemade liqueur, bitters, and barrel-aged cocktail system. He has also worked on the bar and spirits team at the St. Regis Hotel and as opening Food & Beverage Director of the Hotel Indigo Atlanta-Vinings, eventually transitioning into a corporate role at hotel management company Valor Hospitality.
Most recently, Peter worked as General Manager of C&S Chowder House in Roswell and General Manager of Chef Hugh Acheson’s spot Achie’s at the Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta. In his spare time, he enjoys writing film criticism and spending time with his wife and two children.
Hsu brings culinary chops from Michelin-starred Le Bernardin and Le Colonial, both internationally acclaimed NYC restaurants. He served as Executive Sous Chef at Le Bernardin before taking an Executive Chef position at Le Colonial. He then returned to Le Bernardin as Creative Director. Hsu’s cooking showcases a variety of cuisines and techniques using the highest quality ingredients available.
Aaron Phillips serves as Chef de Cuisine/Partner at Lazy Betty and brings NYC culinary talent from his former position as Sous Chef at Le Bernardin, where he met Chef Hsu. He also cooked at NYC restaurants including the famed Bouley, Jean-Georges’ The Mark Restaurant, and The Four Seasons Hotel, where he served as Sous Chef.
Lazy Betty’s tasting menu and à la carte options will feature seasonal fare using modern culinary techniques. Local architecture firm Praxis3 is designing the restaurant in preparation for opening early next year.
