
Chef John Piskor of Chamblee, aged 90, died on October 28 in Atlanta. Chef Piskor was a 54 year member of the American Culinary Federation (ACF). He was a CEC, (Certified Executive Chef) and a member of the AAC (American Academy of Chefs). He was also a member of Le Toque Blanche and UCCA (United Culinary Chefs Association).Chef Piskor was instrumental in the launch of the ACF Atlanta Chapter. On many occasions he served two officers positions at one time as there were less than 10 members. He served as President of the organization at least 6 times over the forming years. Chef Piskor also championed the first African Americans into the president position and was very involved with the junior members not only locally but nationally.  He traveled the country on behalf of national HQ ACF forming apprenticeship programs with junior members.
In addition to his accomplishments and leadership in the Atlanta culinary community, Chef Piskor was executive chef for various restaurants and clubs, including the Jewish Progressive Club, and  he owned and operated the Mouse Trap.
Overall, Chef Piskor will be remembered for his commitment to the culinary profession and helping others succeed.
