Gusto! to open Decatur Restaurant

gustogusto! founder Nate Hybl announced he is opening a Decatur location of his fast casual restaurant at the corner of Church Street and North Decatur Road in the new North Decatur Square shopping center near DeKalb Medical. The restaurant, which currently has locations in the South Buckhead and Virginia-Highland neighborhoods of Atlanta and a third location opening in West Midtown this fall, will serve its fresh bowls and wraps with global flavors for lunch and dinner. The Decatur restaurant is expected to open in late September.

“One of the main reasons we selected this location is its proximity to DeKalb Medical,” says Hybl. “We have been very fortunate to serve many Piedmont Hospital and Shepherd Center staff members and patients with our Peachtree location and are looking forward to providing a fast and better-for-you dining option for the neighboring medical community in Decatur.”

Hybl is also rolling out “Medical Monday” at the new Decatur restaurant as a way to show appreciation for medical professionals. Every week, those who work in the medical field can show their badges to receive “buy one, get one free” meals on Mondays.

While maintaining the modern industrial design that gusto! has become known for, Hybl collaborated with designer Lindsay Denman to warm up the 2,400-square-foot-space with custom wood booths and tabletops along with a wood feature wall illuminated by inspirational signage. Chairs and stools from Grand Rapids Chair Co. are custom-coated in gusto! gold and brighten the space along with industrial Barn Light fixtures. Staying true to the brand’s “made in ATL” roots, gusto! Decatur is working with B-10 Union furniture collective to detail and fabricate the restaurant’s wood and metalwork. As with gusto!’s first two locations, there is a white and signature sunshine yellow color palette.

The restaurant’s team greets guests by asking “what’s your gusto?” Inspired by both international cuisine and familiar American flavors, these gustos – like sweet soy sriracha, chile sesame bbq or tahini cucumber feta – can be hot, bright, earthy or sweet. The food should be fresh and flavorful, but not filled with fat. The next step is to pick a style (mixed greens, Jasmine brown rice, half greens and half rice or a flatbread wrap) and adding a protein (chicken, shrimp or portabella mushroom). The menu at gusto! features all-natural, antibiotic-free chicken and, whenever possible, local and organic ingredients.

gusto! Decatur is also going to offer catering services and delivery via Uber Eats and Postmates.
