17th Annual Taste of Atlanta Scheduled for October

More than 90 of Atlanta’s favorite restaurants will offer dishes alongside live on-stage cooking demos and group classes from top chefs Oct. 19-21 in the Fourth Ward Park in Atlanta.

This year’s event also includes an all-inclusive “World of Taste” Friday Night Kickoff Party with guest hosts Hector Santiago (El Super Pan), Archna Becker (Bhojanic) and Eddie Hernandez (Taqueria del Sol).

Celebrating 10 years of the Taste of Atlanta Barcraft Competition, the Annual Barcraft Celebration will bring together Atlanta’s best bartenders to host cocktail workshops at Atlanta restaurants prior to the festival. On Saturday, the bartenders will serve specialty Bulleit Bourbon cocktails in the Atlanta VIP Experience area, and on Sunday they will craft cocktail creations on the Home Plate Stage.

On Sunday, an area of the festival will be dedicated this year to all things brunch, with tastings from Atlanta’s favorite brunch restaurants and chef demonstrations centered around brunch dishes, including from Chef Pat Pascarelia from The White Bull in Decatur. Jim Cumiskey of Highland Fine Wines, the winner of the Best Sommelier Competition, will team up with Chef Joe Paire of Barcelona Wine Bar to present a food and wine pairing as part of the “Brunch-a-holics” demonstration on the Chef’s Table Stage.

Tickest are now available at tasteofatlanta.com. Prior to the event, ticket holders receive wristbands equipped with radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology, making Taste of Atlanta a cashless festival.

The wristbands will be preloaded with Taste Points, which can be used for drink and merchandise purchases as well as food samples. The wristbands track attendees’ tastes sampled and provide them with a post-event tasting list, serving as a customized roundup of restaurant recommendations they can use for future dining out.

The event benefits several nonprofits, including Open Hand, Second Helpings Atlanta and the Giving Kitchen.
