Inman Park’s Folk Art Restaurant just announced plans to open a second outpost of their diner concept in Decatur, coming in the Fall of 2019.
Known for their “Artful Eats for Simple Folks”…creative takes on Southern classics, inspired versions of comfort food of every variety, and an assortment of handcrafted cocktails.
Co-owner, Randy Parks, a longtime Decatur resident himself, unveiled plans and renderings for the new location and elaborated on why they chose Decatur:
“Decatur is literally my home and has been since 1999. It’s the perfect place, with the perfect vibe, for Folk Art’s new location. I’ve raised my family here, my first restaurant job was here. It’s just good to be back where it all started. It definitely feels full circle.”
The new location will feature a full menu similar to the original Inman Park outpost. Other plans for the space include a full bar, local beers on tap, dining room seating for 100, with an additional 17 spots at the bar, and 10 on the patio.
The new space will share a similar visual aesthetic with the original Folk Art. Vibrant, original murals by legendary, local artists like R. Land, as well as a rotating gallery of original pieces by a variety of Atlanta artists.
To maintain a consistent look and feel, the space itself is being designed by architect Leslie Ellsworth of Studio SOGO, who also designed the original Folk Art.
