Recess founders Fred Castellucci, Nick Miller, and current Recess CEO Erik Göranson, plan to introduce the fast-casual concept to Buckhead. The new location will reside adjacent to the Buckhead Theatre in Buckhead Village’s Hanover Building.
For the Buckhead location, the team will introduce a new model that addresses everyday dining complexities and issues brought about by the pandemic concerning diners’ hospitality experience expectations.
“The pandemic accelerated a number of dining changes that are here to stay,” says Göranson. “During my time at Gather, I learned first-hand how to identify and integrate the best restaurant technology systems to reduce employee friction and create a better guest experience. With Fred’s vast understanding of incredible customer service, delicious food, branding & marketing, we have succeeded in cultivating a radically new restaurant concept with home-grown technology and a high-growth mindset built into its DNA.”
Designed by Martin Rickles Studio (MRS), Recess Buckhead will feature contactless pick-up and delivery options with dedicated parking spaces and food runners alongside a reconceptualized floor plan and more convenient ordering methods. The Recess team plans to continue the brand’s growth throughout Atlanta and the Southeast but will keep the “food that makes you feel good” mentality at the forefront of the expansion.
Recess Buckhead will continue serving lunch and dinner menus that feature grains, whole proteins and seasonal vegetables with meals such as:
- Superbowl: coconut brown rice, red quinoa, sweet potato, kale, pickled beets, chickpea, dried mango, and dates.
- My Farro Lady: farro, kale pesto, charred broccoli, chilled spaghetti squash salad, arugula, radish, and golden raisins.
Guests can also expect more sandwich, salad and grain bowl, and family meal options at the new location. Plus, guests will get the option to build their own meals for dine-in, takeout and delivery.
Recess Buckhead will open later this year for lunch and dinner at 3150 Roswell Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30305, which is owned and operated by The Loudermilk Companies. The Krog Street Market will open in the early fall with some of the brand’s expanded offerings.
