Founder Shane Quillin launched Sugar Shane’s as a home business during the pandemic in 2020. He experimented with recipes and started nationwide shipping, pick-ups from his home, and local deliveries via his online storefront. The sweets company offers handcrafted cookies and cookie cakes in traditional and unique flavors, such as chocolate chip, cookies and cream, banana pudding and carrot cake.
In 2021, Quillin participated and won the 2021 regional Dessert Wars competition, which prompted the business to grow and Quillin to open two Sugar Shane’s brick-and-mortar locations. Quillin transformed Sugar Shane’s ghost kitchen in Atlanta’s Midtown neighborhood into a storefront open to the public in the summer of 2021 and followed it with a location in Sandy Springs in 2022. The new Ponce City Market location marks the business’ third storefront and opens on Mar. 3.
“We are thrilled to launch our third location in historic Ponce City Market,” says Quillin. “I took a work trip in April 2018 and experienced The Beltline and Ponce City Market for the first time and absolutely loved it. We are excited to share our sweets for those local to the city and tourists visiting the market!”
