SPB Hospitality, the multi-concept operator of casual dining chains like Logan’s Roadhouse and J. Alexander’s, is merging with Krystal Restaurants.
Krystal is the first fast-food concept in SPB Hospitality’s portfolio and will be operated separately under the SPB Hospitality umbrella as its own division. The brands in SPB’s portfolio operate independently but as a multi-brand operator, SPB Hospitality can share some services that are not brand dependent, such as HR, accounting and legal. In doing so, companies like Krystal can cut costs when other costs increase, like more demands for technology and remodels.
The merger with Krystal is part of SPB Hospitality’s strategy to grow its portfolio and expand its reach in the restaurant industry.
