Calling all aspiring female chefs! Meals on Wheels Atlanta will host two female chefs at a March 27 event as part of its popular CRAVE: A Culinary Series. The fundraising event will cap off Women’s History Month by celebrating the contributions of women to the culinary landscape of Atlanta, and the public event gives young chefs a chance to learn from women who have made it in what can be a male-dominated industry.
Chef Erica Barrett of SOCU Southern Kitchen & Oyster Bar will demonstrate cooking techniques to attendees, followed by a tasting of what she prepared. Chef and TV Personality Kelli Ferrell will also present an interactive cooking experience and tasting.
Cocktails by Luc Bellaire and Villon will be provided at a welcoming reception before the chefs take the stage.
The event, which runs from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., will be held at 1705West, the event space operated by Meals on Wheels at its headquarters. All proceeds support MOWA’s mission to combat senior hunger and social isolation. Tickets are $80 per person and can be purchased on-line at www.mowatl.org/events.
