Just weeks after opening Bicicletta in Peachtree City, chefs Andrea Montobbio and David Gibbs have announced plans to open the first Intown location of ENZO Steakhouse & Bar at Epicurean Atlanta this winter. The restaurant marks the third concept from the acclaimed chefs and introduces a new partnership with Mainsail Lodging & Development, the hospitality company behind Epicurean Atlanta and Trilith Guesthouse.
A native of Capriata d’Orba in Northern Italy, Montobbio has spent more than two decades building a culinary career in Atlanta and New York before returning to Georgia to open the original ENZO Steakhouse & Bar in Fayetteville in 2022. His career has included leadership roles at the Gansevoort Park Hotel in New York City, STK Atlanta and Ecco Buckhead, where he and chef David Gibbs first began shaping the vision that would become ENZO Steakhouse & Bar.
The chefs will build on the momentum of Bicicletta, open earlier this summer, as ENZO opens its doors in Midtown, bringing the restaurant closer to the Atlanta diners who have supported Andrea for years.
“Where I grew up in Italy, restaurants are part of everyday life. You don’t just go for birthdays or anniversaries. You meet friends for lunch, bring your family together on Sunday, stop in for dinner during the week and celebrate life’s big moments there too,” says Montobbio. “That’s what David and I wanted ENZO to become. Watching it become part of everyday life in the Town at Trilith has been incredibly rewarding, and we’re excited to build those same connections in Atlanta.”
Set to occupy the former Reverence restaurant, ENZO is undergoing a complete transformation. Interior designer Oliver Carter has reimagined the approximately 2,886-square-foot space with soaring sculptural wood ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, an open show kitchen, an expansive bar, and a mix of dining room, lounge and patio seating that invites guests to settle in from breakfast through dinner. Rule Joy Trammell + Rubio is serving as architect of record, with Barrett Construction leading construction.
The partnership with Mainsail Lodging & Development brings ENZO to Epicurean Atlanta, a hotel designed around the intersection of food, wine and culinary discovery on West Peachtree. It is a natural meeting point for two teams that believe a restaurant should serve its community while giving visitors a genuine sense of place.
“Epicurean Atlanta has always been about creating memorable culinary experiences, and bringing ENZO to the hotel is a natural extension of that vision. Andrea and David have built something truly special in the Town at Trilith, and we’re excited to welcome a restaurant that reflects the same commitment to exceptional food, thoughtful hospitality and experiences that keep guests coming back,” says Alex Amato, General Manager of Epicurean Atlanta.
