Chef Jonathan Waxman and partner Howard Greenstone of Waxstone Group have announced Adam Evans as chef-partner of Brezza Cucina, Waxman’s latest concept debuting in Ponce City Market’s Central Food Hall this fall. The restaurant will feature Italian and New American influences similar to the style of Waxman’s New York City establishment Barbuto, while incorporating chef Evans’ bold flavors and Southern roots.
“My goal was to bring an experienced Atlanta chef on board for this venture,” said Waxman. “With a wealth of culinary knowledge, proven leadership ability and an inherent passion that guests look for, Adam was a perfect fit for my team.”
Since his arrival to Atlanta via New York City in 2009, Evans has garnered numerous accolades, including a nomination for Food & Wine’s “People’s Best New Chef” 2015. He made an impact on the city’s culinary landscape through his seafood dishes at The Optimist, bringing national recognition to both restaurants including a “‘Best Seafood Restaurant in the U.S.” accolade from Travel + Leisure. His career also has included tenure under such notable chefs and restaurateurs as The Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group in New Orleans and Tom Collichio’s Craft.
“I’m looking forward to this next step in my career through a partnership with Jonathan and Howard,” adds Evans. “Ponce City Market is quickly becoming a culinary destination and Atlanta gathering place, and I’m excited to be a part of the development.”
Located in the east end of the Central Food Hall, the space will be incorporated into the market with a glass wall separating it from the retail experience allowing shoppers an exclusive view into the bustling kitchen and easy access into the restaurant.
