Ikara, a fine dining Indian restaurant, will open inside the Twelve Midtown Hotel at Atlantic Station this winter, bringing an elevated expression of Indian dining to Atlanta. The restaurant’s menu will blend regional authenticity—offering dishes from the Bihar, Kashmir, Goa, Rajasthan, Kerala and Himachal regions of India—with modern technique.

Chef Yugal Sharma, formerly the assistant master chef at The Royal Afghan, the fine dining restaurant at ITC Grand Bharat luxury hotel in Delhi, India, will bring his experience with relaxed but refined luxury to Atlanta diners. He will offer an à la carte menu in the dining room as well as a separate 30-seat chef’s tasting room with an ambitious tasting menu. Sharma’s nine-course progressive menu will reimagine traditional flavors through global techniques and thoughtful wine pairings. Diners can expect aromatics like saffron, roasted cumin and rose water weaving through dishes that feel both familiar and entirely new.
Ikara’s beverage program, led by Arvind Poojari, complements its culinary storytelling with a globally minded wine list and cocktails inspired by the spice markets, botanicals and coastal regions of India. Guests can expect refined takes on classics alongside original creations infused with flavors like cardamom, tamarind, kokum and rose, all crafted to mirror the layered and expressive nature of the cuisine.
Ikara’s interiors, designed by Chromed Design Studio’s Lead Designer Nitin Khobe, will channel the elegance of modern India with a shimmering mix of brass, glass, stone and warm woods that nod to royal palaces while embracing minimalism. Soft, golden lighting nods to the glow of diyas, and a curated soundtrack moves from Indian classical to ambient electronic.
More details, including opening date, will be released soon, according to the restaurant.
